Info for Charity Presenters

100+ Women Who Care – Madison donates to 501(c)(3) organizations located in Dane County. In order to be considered for a donation from our members, charities must be nominated by a member of the 100+ Women Who Care – Madison.

Here is some important information for charities chosen to present at a 100+ Women Who Care – Madison meeting:

How many people will be in attendance?

Despite the name, our organization comprises many more than 100 women. Approximately 200-300 women are part of our membership, though less generally attend the meetings.

When should I arrive?

Registration and networking begins at 5:15 pm and the meetings start promptly at 6:00 pm, running for exactly one hour. Please arrive no later than 5:30 pm to meet with the organization’s volunteer representatives.

How many other charities are presenting?

Three charities are randomly chosen to present at each meeting.

What format is the presentation and how long should it be?

Each presenter has up to five minutes to present. This is a verbal presentation only, no visual aids are allowed. You may bring a representative and/or a beneficiary of your organization to help tell your charity’s story.

Visit our The Pitch page for tips on preparing your presentation.

Will people have a chance to ask me questions?

After each charity’s presentation, the audience has five minutes to ask questions of the presenters.

When do I learn if we won?

The votes are tallied during the meeting and the winning charity is announced just prior to 7:00 pm that night.

How large is the total donation?

The exact total is based on current membership numbers and varies by quarter. The winning charity will receive $10,000. The other two charities will each receive half of the remaining donations, currently about $2,500 each. While the winning charity may receive the full check the night of the event*, the other charities will receive their checks from 100+ Women Who Care – Madison the month after the meeting.

*100+ Women Who Care – Madison works hard to collect donations from members leading up to each meeting in order to award the winning charity the full $10,000 the night of each meeting. However, if member donations do not materialize in time for the meeting, a check will be sent to the winning charity after the meeting.
