Who We Are

We are one team, united in giving back locally. All are welcome, respected and celebrated.

100+ Women Who Care – Madison was launched in 2014 and is based on the simple concept of bringing women together to make a large impact on their community.

Approximately 300 women strong, 100+ Women Who Care – Madison meetings are held four times a year where our members will donate over $15,000 in one evening to a local charity serving Dane County, Wisconsin.

Our members join with a minimal time commitment. 100+Women Who Care – Madison meetings are only one hour, and in that one hour, members select a local charity to receive over $15,000 in unrestricted grant funding. All charities under consideration for the organization are nominated by our membership. There is no volunteering, no telemarketing, no event planning, or no silent auction donations to solicit. It’s simply a great way to give back to our local community.

How does it work?

Three local 501(c)(3) charities are selected by members to present at each meeting. A representative from each charity has five minutes to present their organization and answer questions from the attending members. A vote is held and the winning charity is revealed before the end of the meeting. At the next meeting, a representative of the winning charity speaks to the members about the impact their gift has made toward helping that charity fulfill its vision and goals.

Women may join at one of three membership levels: Champions, Leaders or Friends. All membership commitments are for one year and may be renewed annually.

100+ Women Who Care – Madison is for you if:

  • You find yourself short on time to volunteer but you truly want to help those in need in our local community;
  • You are able to attend a one hour meeting every three months;
  • You want 100% of your donations to go directly to a local charity;
  • You want your generous donation to become a part of a large amount of money by joining together with other women—creating a powerful impact in our local area

To participate, simply join here – we look forward to seeing you at our next meeting!

A little more detail…

Our mission

We are one team, united in giving back locally to make a difference. All are welcome, respected and celebrated.

Our goal

Make a measurable impact in our community through our members’ collective charitable giving.

How do we do it?

Our members donate each quarter to a local charity chosen by a ballot vote. Champions donate $200 per quarter, Leaders give $100 per quarter and Friends offer $50 per quarter. With nearly 300 members, we donate over $15,000 to local charities FOUR TIMES per year.

  1. Members donate at each quarterly which is donated to the selected local charity. Champions donate $200 per quarter ($800 per year), Leaders donate $100 per quarter ($400 per year) and Friends donate $50 per quarter ($200 per year).
  2. All donations will be given to charities serving Dane County. National charities will be considered through local branches eligible for consideration if the contributions will be used here. The purpose is for 100% of the contribution to stay in Dane County.
  3. Members may nominate their favorite local charity and may nominate as many as they wish. Eligible charities must have 501(c)(3) status. Once eligibility is determined by the 100+ Women Who Care – Madison board of directors, charities are placed on a ballot that members use to vote for three charities to present at the following meeting.
  4. A representative from each of the three charities is invited to make a five-minute presentation at the meeting. A brief question and answer period follows to address members’ questions.
  5. During the meeting, all members vote for one of the three charities to receive the quarterly Impact Award. The majority rules. All members must donate to the charity earning the most votes at the meeting. Some members prefer to bring their checkbook to each meeting or donate electronically to ALL of the organizations that presented.
  6. The selected charity must agree NOT to use the names of our members for future solicitations, nor give the information out to the public. If the charity does not adhere to this condition, it will be removed from any future consideration.
  7. Two years after being selected for the group’s collective donation, members may re-submit this charity for consideration.
  8. The two remaining charities that are not selected are eligible to be selected to present again at future meetings.

Please feel free to attend any meeting as a guest. While guests are not eligible to vote, you may choose to donate to any of the charities present. We will also have member registration forms available for anyone wishing to join us.
